
Sensei Pete Lindley Founder & Chief Instructor of TaiKai Karate Association
Begun training in the early 1970s under the strict instruction of
sensei ken Waddington of athersley karate club
(sensei ken Waddington was English full contact karate champion).
The club was part of the international budo association with
chief instructor sensei phil milner.
Always keen to learn, sensei pete trained at lots of venues
with many different instructors
sensei's edgar aukland,
tony manterfield (British full contact karate champion),
steve swindle, john adair, and the late sensei Kenny sykes who was taught
by the Japanese master sensei tatsui Suzuki were just a few
of the talented instructors he trained with.
A decade on and sensei pete met up with the very highly respected
Sensei's ged and john tumman who were instructors
Of kingstone karate club and part of B.A.S.K.A.
Under chief instructor sensei greg Wallace.
Around this time sensei's john and ged teamed up with other local instructors
To form the very successful shindo-kai karate association.
It wasn't long after that Sensei pete took over the running of Darton karate club,
Which at the time was run by sensei gary burkinshaw.
The club went from strength to strength and with over eighty members
Became one of the associations top clubs.
Sensei pete later became shindo-kai squad coach
A job that he was very proud to have.
In 2006 sensei pete followed his destiny and formed
The new and highly respectable TaiKai Karate Association.
Within the first year the association was winning medals and trophies
From all over England.
Sensei pete as well as being a high grade black belt is also an association referee.
He is a former IBA, shindo-kai and British all styles Kumite Champion,
He holds the utmost respect for all his former instructors,
And feels proud and privileged to have been taught by them all. |
